TWO chefs from a popular take-away have been showcasing their singing talents on the X Factor...during the ad breaks.

Strad and Gina Kyriacou of Chris’s Fish and Chips in Barwell were selected to entertain the nation during the Just Eat sponsored ad break at the weekend on the ITV show.

The duo showed off their talents by belting out Hungry like the Wolf by Duran Duran and Next to Me by Emeli Sandé.

The fun video clips shine a spotlight on the local restaurant talent, before the staff then perform their unique talent showcasing the flair that goes into creating and delivering a perfect takeaway night in.

Each performance is full of glam and sparkle, much like the talent show’s live final, with the show’s presenter Dermot O’Leary as the voiceover artist.

The two stars were selected as part of a rigorous audition process, similar to the format of The X Factor’s selection process.

Strad and Gina Kyriacou impressed with their rendition of Wannabe by The Spice Girls.

They were then invited to London to record their performance, before finally being picked for the final line up.

Strad and Gina Kyriacou of Chris’s Fish and Chips in Barwell, said: “It still hasn’t sunk in.

“The whole experience has made us really respect music artists as the amount of work that went even into this was phenomenal.

“Performers have it tough! It’s great to be featured in the ad with my wife and it’s fantastic to put Leicester on the map.

“Ever since Leicester won the football, we’ve been on a roll, the city is packed full with talent.”
