Rachel loses 10 stones and can fit in one leg of her old trousers
SLIMMERS at a weight loss group in Hinckley have been shedding the pounds since it began in January 2018.
People trying to get in shape at the Slimming World group, which meets at Ashby Road Sports Club, have already lost 276 stone.
Ian lost 1 stone 9lbs since joining in March to support his wife Katherine in her weight loss journey.
He said: “I had huge reservations but after a week or so it became natural and it was a good feeling to be supported by other members.
“Looking at my before and after pictures it’s unbelievable what a difference it has made to my appearance and also my confidence.
“I love the fact that nothing is off limits. If I’m feeling hungry I just grab some free food and know I’m still on plan.”
The group is open to slimmers of any age, sex, race or gender.
Kara overcame her initial nerves in starting and found the group to be warm and welcoming.
She’s lost three stone 3.5lbs since January and enjoys walking and has taken part in a marathon since becoming a member.
She said: “I joined because I was forever avoiding photos, I just didn’t want to be seen in any photographs.
“I love that it’s so easy, I don’t ever feel like I’m dieting. I can still enjoy a takeaway and all my favourite treats now and then.”
The group is run by mum-ofeight Rachel Parker, who lost 10 stone using the scheme.
She said: “They have all come so far since joining Slimming World.
“Their dedication to their weight loss to lead healthier lifestyles is really inspiring, both to me and all of the other members in the group.
“They have grown in confidence, self belief and are such wonderful people.”
The Ashby Road Slimming World group is held every Monday at 5.30pm or 7.30pm at Ashby Road Sports Club.
