Classic vehicles to take over the town

-

MOTOR lovers, families and residents are invited to join us for the Hinckley BID 8th Annual Classic Motorshow this weekend.

The ever-popular show, to be held on Sunday from 10am until 4pm, promises to be the biggest and best yet and will see hundreds of lovingly-restored vehicles line the streets of Hinckley.

Guests can wander through the town centre at leisure and enjoy the displays of cars, scooters, tractors and vehicles of special interest.

Motor lovers will be treat- ed to a host of special vehicles on display, including huge Cadillacs and Chevrolets, fast Aston Martins and Porsches and Jaguars.

Historic entries include vehicles from Coventry Motor Museum and military vehicles from Hinckley pub The Bounty, who will be holding their ‘Underneath the Arches’ cabaret by the Land Girls.

The event is free to enjoy and is thought to be the biggest town centre motorshow in the Midlands and usually attracts thousands of people from across the region. As well as this, council-run car parks will be free to park in on Sunday.

Businesses, shops and restaurants will also be joining in the fun, with many Hinckley businesses opening the doors for the special event.

Steve Wegerif, director of Hinckley BID, said he is gearing up for the big event. He added: “Hinckley BID’s 8th Annual Motorshow will be an event for all the family to attend as fascinating vehicles of all ages, shapes and sizes descend on Hinckley town centre.

“From the swish and very fast to the elegant and steady, there is bound to be a vehicle on show that suits everyone.

“With more than 600 cars, motorbikes and even some wartime military vehicles expected - the show is free to attend and starts at 10am through to 4pm.

“Many shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs will also be open for you to enjoy. Hope you can join us on Sunday September 16th - just aim for Hinckley town centre, you can’t miss us!”
