Sleepover at space centre

BUDDING astronauts can take a tour of the nights sky as the National Space Centre opens its doors to host an overnight family sleepover.

Special after hours access to the galleries and a lunar mission workshop are just some of the features of Leicester’s National Space Centre’s next big event,

To celebrate World Space Week, and the 50th anniversar­y of the launch of Apollo 7, the Centre is giving families the opportunit­y to spend the night sleeping under giant rockets, next to spacesuits and beneath the stars.

Lots of activities, workshops, talks and even an astronaut breakfast will be available to enjoy.

A mission patch workshop, NXT moon mission challenge, story time and tour of the night sky are just some of the fun activities lined up for the night.

The Space Centre will be selling a selection of meals and snacks, including meaty, veggie and gluten free options, in the Boosters Café until 10pm.

Breakfast, will also be served in Boosters, and is included in the price.

Tickets cost £40 per adult and £30 per child, children must be atleast sixyears-old.

The sleepover will take place on Saturday October 6, and check in will start from 5.15pm, with activities launching from 6pm.
