Rebecca’s charity ball
A CHARITY ball is taking place in Burbage to raise awareness of Endometriosis.
The event in aid of Women With Endometriosis will include entertainment from Little n Large Events, Dale Palmer and Sarah Pokorny.
Sweet treats will also be on offer from Cozvic Enterprise’s Vicky Bull, Katie Noonan and Party Pops. A raffle will also be going on. Organiser Rebecca Collings said: “I would be honoured if you all would join me in having a fun night to forget the stress of living with this awful disease and raise as much money as possible for such a fantastic and worthy cause.
“If anyone would like to donate anything to the raffle on the night then please get in touch.
“We have some brilliant prizes donated already.”
Rebecca has had the illness since she was 13, which involves the tissue that usually lines the womb growing in other parts of the body, typically around the ovaries and fallopian tubes.
She is currently on a six-month course of medication to induce menopause after a cyst burst on one of her ovaries.
She said: “Everyone has been so supportive of the event.
“It’s my way to just keep focused and give back as well.”
Rebecca is marketing manager for Women With Endometriosis and visited London with other members of the charity to see the start of an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) dedicated to raising awareness of the crippling disease.
She will be back in the Capital in October to meet with health ministers to discuss ways to promote awareness of Endometriosis.
The ball is taking place at Sketchley Grange Hotel in Burbage in the Bradgate suite.
Guests are asked to dress smartly for the occasion.
The event starts at 7pm on November 2 and tickets are £20 per person.
All money raised from ticket and raffle sales will be donated to the charity.
