Chance to learn to dance

IF you love Rock ‘n’ Roll music and have always wanted to learn to jive, now is your chance.

A six week Learn to Jive course commences on Wednesday 24 October from 8.00 to 9pm, at Greentowers, Richmond Road

The cost is £38 per person for the six week course.

Teacher, Elaine Atkins said: “This is 1950s style Rock ‘n’ Roll jive (not ballroom or modern jive). This very popular course is specifically devised for adults of all ages and is suitable for complete beginners or those who can already dance and would like to learn some new moves. It’s an excellent form of exercise, great fun and an excellent way to meet new friends.

“Anyone can learn this style, even those who have never danced before. When you have completed our beginners course, with a little practice, you will be able to get up and dance with confidence. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with plenty of help and assistance at hand. Ideal for couples or singles. Those without partners should mention this when booking.

“As an added bonus, we can teach you Jive Strollers and Charleston Strollers so that you are ready to dance at our twice-monthly Jive Nights held at Wykin & District Social Club in Hinckley.”

Greentowers has an excellent dance floor and ample free parking.
