Rock of Ages musical coming to the East Midlands

THE East Midlands will be welcoming one of Strictly Come Dancing’s most famous profession­als to the stage next year.

The upcoming 2019 UK tour of the West End and Broadway production and Hollywood film Rock Of Ages will be hitting the road with ex-Strictly pro Kevin Clifton who will be taking on the role of Stacee Jaxx.

The ballroom and Latin dancer is a much-decorated profession­al, having won the Britain Latin Championsh­ips four times and a string of other big-time competitio­ns over his career. He’s also finished in second place on the BBC show four times since joining the series as a pro in 2012, landing in the runners-up spot with Susanna Reid, Frankie Bridge, Kellie Bright and Louise Red- knapp.

Kevin will be joining fellow West End stars Kevin Kennedy, who will play Dennis, Zoe Birkett as Justice, Luke Walsh as Drew, Lucas Rush as Lonny, Jodie Steele playing Sherrie, Andrew Carthy starring as Franz, Vas Constanti playing Hertz and Rhiannon Chesterman as Regina.

Rock Of Ages, which is built around classic rock songs from the 1980s, will be playing in both Nottingham and Leicester in 2019 as part of the big UK tour.

The musical will play at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal from April 2 until April 6, with tickets available from trch.co.uk. The show goes to Leicester Haymarket Theatre from June 11 until June 15. Tickets are available from haytheatre.com. Tickets cost between £19.50 and £46.
