Market Bosworth A lead the way thanks to another two fine wins

MARKET Bosworth A currently lead Division Two of the Hinckley Table Tennis League having accrued 35 points from five matches, they are being closely pursued by G WC with 34 pts from four games and Cat D on 31pts also from four games.

In their latest matches Mkt Bosworth A overcame Cat G by 9 sets to 1, John Veasey (MBA) winning all his games. They followed this up with a further win over Cat E by 7 sets to 3, Shaun Garrett being the star man with three good wins. Alex Downes picking up two wins for Cat E.

Rivals G Ward C collected another fine win by 7 sets to 3 over Hit’n’Hope B to maintain the pressure. Luke Haskins, coming out as man of the match, with a fine maximum.

Cat D took on GWE, with Chris Sherwin (Cat D) in outstandin­g form collecting three good wins to set the foundation for a 7 sets to three victory for the Desford side. Young Frankie Hallam (GWE) was unlucky taking all three opponents to four games but failing to win any of them. Dave Richardson ( GWE) took two sets for the Barwell team.

Cat F overcame Mkt Bosworth B by 10 sets to nil and things did not go much better for Mkt Bos B when they went down 2 sets to 8 at home to the youthful GWF team. Both James Walker and Matt Halliday (both GWF) won all their games for GW F. GWF found Hit’n’Hope B too strong succumbing 8 sets to 2 in the end.
