Tourism forum event at hotel

ALL tourism and hospitalit­y businesses across Leicesters­hire are invited to the 2018 Tourism Forum hosted by Leicesters­hire Promotions and Winning Moves.

The hugely popular event attracts more than 100 industry delegates and will be held at the prestigiou­s Sketchley Grange Hotel and Spa in Burbage on Thursday November 8 between 9.30am and 5pm.

The theme for this year’s event will be Trading Through Brexit, with the focus on helping those attending to explore how Brexit might affect the sector and their own business.

Opening the event will be Beverley Nielson, former CEO of the Heart of England Tourist Board and currently a leading player in the Centre for Brexit Studies at Birmingham City University.

Attention will be on helping businesses to prepare for the future, as well as a range of practical workshops from.

Packed with proven tips, tools and techniques, the main aim will revolve around helping businesses to sustain themselves and grow.

The approach promises to be inclusive and entertaini­ng, hoping to motivate businesses with thought-provoking content, delivered by knowledgea­ble and inspiratio­nal presenters.

The day will also offer plenty of opportunit­ies to network with industry partners and businesses.

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicesters­hire Promotions, said: “The feedback from our Forum last year was very positive with delegates getting so much practical support from both the workshop sessions and the opportunit­ies to network with other industry experts with whom they may not otherwise be in contact.

“We have a very strong programme in place for to choose the 2018 Forum and urge all businesses in the sector to ensure that they attend.”

The morning and afternoon workshops are supported by the Collaborat­e programme.

This specialist support initiative is offered free of charge to assist tourism and hospitalit­y businesses in the city and county to develop and expand.

The programme has been running since November 2017, has already assisted more than 70 tourism and hospitalit­y businesses and has very high levels of satisfacti­on and impact reported.

Whilst the workshop sessions in the morning and afternoon are provided at no cost, delegates are invited to a networking lunch between the sessions for a small charge of £25 +VAT per person.
