ANDY Findlay dominated the Higham Lane Opens last week, winning both.

In the Thursday Open, Andy used pellet feeder tactics on peg 10 to catch 77lb 6oz, finishing well clear of runner up Dave Massey who weighed 44lb 9oz , while John Varley finished third with a 38lb 11oz catch.

It was a bit closer on Saturday, but the same result, with Andy weighing 82lb 7oz from peg 19, catching first on the feeder before switching to the margins to catch some big fish on the pole.

Paul Gardener pole fished pellet on peg 10 to take second place with a 72lb 9oz catch, while Mick Linnett came third with 52lb 11oz.

The final round of Lychgate Fisheries Summer League was won by Mark Sidwells with a 92lb 6oz catch from peg 36.

Dan Eaton came second with 67lb 14oz, Steve Brindley was third with 56lb 14oz and Andy Findlay fourth with 41lb 4oz.

Overall Dan Eaton won the League, with four section wins and two second places.

Mark Sidwell’s win moved him up from fifth place to second with Andy Findlay finishing third.

Lutterwort­h took on a hard Phase Two at Makins Fishery with Phil Neep taking the honours from peg 7 on the Crater Pool with a 47lb 14oz catch.

Winner of the Reptile Pool was Dick Makepeace with 26lb 6oz from peg 7 while Mick Bassett won the Little Reptile Pool with 23lb 10oz.

Lychgate Fisheries’ midweek Open attracted a good turnout with Robin Duffy qualifying for the Lychomania semis with a winning 44lb 14oz catch of small carp from peg 52.

Chris Duffy came second with 35lb 15oz while Paul Bates finished third with 35lb 10oz.

Measham’s latest Away Day trip was to fish their Members Challenge Cup contest on the Coventry Canal at Alvercote. Hubert Noar took the honours with just 1lb 8oz of small perch.

Roger Pickering weighed 1lb 6oz of small roach to finish second with Andy Smith finishing third with 14oz.

The colder nights slowed sport in Mayne Lakes’ midweek contest.

Steve Spencer switched between feeder and pole tactics and used sweetcorn to keep putting fish into his net to finish top with 28lb 4oz.

Results: Pool One Winner; Jamie Horler 21lb 4oz peg 36.

Pool Two Winner; Alan Wilson 16lb 12oz peg 1. Pool Three Winner; Steve Spencer peg 43.

Higham Lane have Open matches every Thursday and Saturday, draw for both at 9am.

Lychgate have their Fine Line Friday, carp banned open draw 9am, and an open match every Saturday, draw 9.15am.

Brookfield have an open match this Sunday at Stoke Golding, draw 9am.

Shackersto­ne have their Members Fur and Feather contest on Sunday, draw 7.45am at the Rising Sun.

Maynes Lakes have an open match every Wednesday, draw 10am.

Lychgate Fisheries have an open match every Wednesday, with the draw at 9am.
