Still time to donate to festive appeal

-

HUNDREDS of families in Hinckley are expected to benefit from the town’s Christmas Appeal which will provide presents and food to those who need it.

Each year the Hinckley and Bosworth Christmas Appeals helps hundreds of families enjoy the festive celebrations without the worry of buying presents or not having enough food on the table.

This is made possible because of the donations from local people and businesses.

Donation bins have been dotted around the borough and some are already overflowing with new toys.

Last year over 300 parcels of toys and food went to local families and this year more businesses have joined forces to make sure those in need once again benefit at Christmas time.

Jennie Wroe, Hinckley and Bosworth’s Sure Start Children’s Centre Coordinator, said: “It is great to have support from our leading retailers Asda, Tesco and Morrisons.

“We are lucky enough to have donation bins in other local business, community groups and locations too and it makes a really positive impact when local people make donations to the appeal.

“We have one week left for local people to make donations in the various bins around the borough.

“The gifts are really appreciated and make such a difference to the lives of young people living locally.”

Donation bins can be found at Hinckley’s children and family centre, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Hinckley Hub council office, Westfield Infant School, Barwell Academy, St Bernards Day Nursery, Asquith Windmill Day Nursery, Burbage Day Nursery, Hinckley and Rugby Building Society, Hinckley Library and The Salvation Army.

The appeal will end on Friday November 2 so all donations must be made by that date.
