Halloween is no longer just for kids says store

-

NEW research by Central England Co-operative has suggested that the Halloween season is no longer just for youngsters.

Based on data gathered from sales across the retailer’s 240 food stores, results have revealed that during the spooky season, beer, cider, lager, wines and spirits are consistently the biggest sellers followed by crisps, snacks and fruit.

A 9% rise in these sales over the Halloween period in 2017, alongside a growing demand for party accessories, suggests that Halloween has become a reason for adults to have fun and organise get-togethers

Martin Hill, Head of Product and Category at Central England Cooperative, said: “We constantly monitor what our customers want and this Halloween we have some great deals on beers, wines and spirits for the adults and a great range of novel confectionary.

“Meeting the demands of our customers is particularly important this year as Halloween falls in the middle of the week, providing opportunities for festivities on two weekends.

“As always, Central England Co- operative food stores are on hand to keep ghouls and goblins at bay with a wide variety of spook-tacular treats for everyone.”

Pumpkins remain to be the hallmark of Halloween for the food store as their sales prove to rise by 9% each year, and this Halloween the company are expecting to see more interest in themed confectionary from their brand new range of goodies including Co-op Zombie Mummy Eyeballs, Monster Brains and Oozy Eyeballs as well as gingerbread Freaky Frankies for children to decorate.
