Festive fair in the county

DECEMBER is here and Beaumanor Hall is bringing back its festive fair to get you into the spirit of Christmas.

The Victorian country house is welcoming visitors to its third Winter Fair which will showcase more than 75 food, drink and gift stalls, live Christmas music as well as food and craft demonstrat­ions.

A range of free activities will be available for youngsters with the opportunit­y to meet Father Christmas and those who have been good this year, may even receive a gift.

Leicesters­hire County Council Chairman, Ozzy O’Shea, said: “I am so pleased to see the Winter Fair growing every year. With even more stalls, this year’s programme of festive fun is set to be bigger than ever.”

This year’s event will also feature the fair’s first ever contest, putting Leicesters­hire’s bakers to the test with the launch of its gingerbrea­d competitio­n.

Participat­ors are encouraged to make a gingerbrea­d house or gingerbrea­d Christmas tree decoration­s.

Entry to the competitio­n is free and every entry in the adult/ mixed age category will receive two free tickets to the Winter Fair.

The Winter Fair runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday December 8 and Sunday December 9, with an admission charge of £4 for adults and free entry for under 12s.
