Gin festival at rugby club

THE well-loved beverage gin will take centre stage this February as Hinckley’s Gin Festival returns this Friday and Saturday.

Otherwise known as ‘The Gin Nations’ the event combines a great selection of gins, with entertainment and food taking place at Hinckley Rugby Club.

Over 100 gins and food dishes from each of the six nations - England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy - will be available to attendees.

Dishes will include English classic roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, traditional Scottish haggis, neeps and tatties pie as well as an Irish stew with mash.

The gin bonanza is back over the weekend of the Six Nations sporting event which sets the theme for this year’s festival.

On arrival, guests will be presented with their very own 22oz balloon glass and a program of notes which will be worth keeping as memorabilia.

This year’s gin offerings will include a baked apple and salted caramel.

As well as live music and entertainment, you won’t miss a minute of the action as big screens will be showing matches on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Tickets will cost £10 which can be purchased online or from the clubhouse.
