Charity evening big success
A recent fundraising event featuring a disco and talent show in Sapcote has raised almost £800 for two mental health charities.
The evening saw residents of the village gather to take part in a fun evening of singing and dancing all in the name of charity.
Mind and Mental Health were chosen by organiser Karl Morris and both will benefit from the current £767 of funds raised.
Eight acts ranging from aged five to 70 took part in the evening’s talent competition and the crowds were also kept entertained by music from MD Karaoke and Discos.
Guests could also take part in the tombola and raffle with more than 50 donated prizes up for grabs which was drawn by local royalty the Prince and Princess of Burbage Carnival Finley Killip and Lauren Farmer.
The event was the first one to be organised by Karl but after the success of this fundraiser, the local performer is keen to plan more, he said: “I am looking forward to planning the next fundraiser event which is planned for the summer, anyone who would like to donate or to be part of this then please get in contact.
“I want to say thank you to everyone who donated, supported and attended the evening in aid of Mental Health.”
Karl is currently running a competition through his Facebook page for a chance to win a three-day break which has been donated by Tattershall Country Park and money raised through this will also be donated to the Mind charity.
