WE recently ran a piece about the favourite teachers of readers from schools in this area.

Since then, others have been in touch to add some more of their favourites to the list.

And here is the latest additions:

Hinckley Academy and John Cleveland Sixth Form Centre

Mr Damian Byng - ‘For me it was Mr Byng John Cleveland as he made me enjoy maths. It’s about the only lesson I turned up for.’ ‘Loved maths lessons with Mr Byng’. Mrs Boulter - ‘Mrs Boulter English teacher at JCC 1976-77, amazing lady who changed my life and love of literature, forever’. Sharnford Primary School Mr Stocker - ‘Mr Stocker, Head of Sharnford Primary School. One of my most memorable teachers by far, fantastic memories of him playing his accordion, his Fun Assembly’s, playing Rounders, Bonfire Nights, Plays, Country Dancing, Christmas Carols around the village, School Trips.....I could go on!’

‘Never known a head teacher to do so much and get so involved with everything like he did... Fabulous memories from those days’.

‘Mr Stocker was a legend, absolute- ly transforme­d Sharnford C of E ... when I see Mr Stocker in Asda he still says hello, and its been nearly 40 years since I left’.

Mount Grace High School (now closed)

Mr Lines - ‘Physics teacher at Mount Grace in the late 70’s. Used to sing to himself while he walked about the class. Best teacher ever’.

Mr Scotton - ‘Mr Scotton deserves a mention, dedicated his life to teaching, Taught at Westfield, Mount Grace and JCC.’

‘Mr Scotton taught my mum my sister and then me. He always said he had never lost an argument with a pupil until I came along’.

Miss Bowen - ‘Miss Bowen at Mount Grace in Hinckley. Full of positivity, took me from a kid interested in nothing to someone who wanted to learn and succeed. Lovely lady. Fond school days.’

‘Good old miss Bowen she was my form teacher absolutely loved her’. Battling Brook Primary School Mrs Glover - ‘Mrs Glover from Battling Brook- an absolute heart of gold and always had the biggest smile on her face no matter what!’ Richmond Primary School Mr Coughlan - ‘Mr Coughlan all the way - Richmond Primary school. I’m following in his footsteps now’. ‘My kids loved him too’. Middlefiel­d Primary School (now Richmond Primary School)

Mrs Scotton - ‘Mrs Scotton at middlefiel­d infants school, she was my second teacher, loved her. I still see her quite often in town, we always stop and have a chat’. Sketchley Hill Primary School Ms Judith Nix - ‘ One of the most amazing teachers I have ever met. She always makes every single person feel valued.
