Theatre group gets a helping hand from town building society

-

A THEATRE group in Hinckley was given a helping hand by a building society.

Little Acorns received an £150 power mixer bought for them by Hinckley and Rugby Building Society.

The device which processes sound effects, music and microphone dialogue and singing will be used in future productions in Hinckley, Stoke Golding and on tour.

The group’s previous machine was old and when it last failed could not be repaired.

Chris Shreeve, Little Acorns’ treasurer, said: “The mixer is an integral part of our audio system. It’s a really useful piece of equipment.

“We needed a replacement that could do a wide range of tasks.

“So it is incredibly helpful to get the support of a local company such as Hinckley and Rugby – and you can’t get much more local than that.

“As a not-for-profit we were desperate for help and otherwise it would have been a struggle for us.

“Having our local Building Society step in and say they want to help is a big deal for us. The mixer will get a great deal of use over the years to come and we will always remember the generosity of Hinckley and Rugby.”

Stewart Heeley, marketing and PR manager at Hinckley and Rugby, said: “When we heard the predicament Little Acorns found itself in, we were very pleased to step up. After all, the show must go on.”

Little Acorns’ next main production will be in November.

The company performs at St Mary’s Church Community Hall in Hinckley and at Stoke Golding Village Hall.
