In the Night Garden Live heads to Haymarket
IS it a bird, is it a plane – no, it’s a Pinky Ponk. No, really, the world’s first Flying Pinky Ponk is coming to Leicester.
In The Night Garden Live! heads to the Leicester Haymarket Theatre in October, and is bringing with it a 2.5-metre-long flying Pinky Ponk air orb.
The pre-school favourite TV show will be brought to life on stage so get ready for gasps as your toddlers’ favourite characters take the stage and the Pinky Ponk Air Orb soars over their heads.
It is the first time an effect like this has been used in theatres in the UK and it’s all thanks to cutting-edge, patented aerodynamic technology pioneered by specialist German company, Airstage.
Oliver Seadon, executive producer, said: “We’ve toured In The Night Garden Live in our own venue for the last ten years and audiences always felt like they were being transported into the Night Garden.
“We knew that when we brought the show into theatres for the first time we had to do something magical for our little fans and their families.
“What better way than to take the Night Garden literally into the auditorium in the form of this incredible flying Pinky Ponk? If the toddlers in the audiences are half as excited as I was about seeing it for the first time, it’s going to be such a special experience.”
In a specially written new story using full-size characters and magical puppets with enchanting music and dancing, CBeebies stars Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and friends are all brought to life to create a magical musical theatre experience.
