Submit your work to town gallery

TALENTED artists and art enthusiasts are being invited to submit their work for a summer exhibition.

The Ten2Gallery, based on upper Castle Street in Hinckley, is once again offering artists in the area the chance to submit up to three pieces of their work for consideration to be included in the open exhibition.

The exhibition will be held in August and September, with this year’s theme entitled ‘our borough’. Artists should submit work that depicts Hinckley and the surrounding area.

At least one picture from the exhibition will be chosen by representatives of Hinckley BID and Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council to be used as a greetings card. The card will then be sold to visitors to the area, as well as borough residents.

This year’s exhibition is open to artists producing 2D work only, and all items must either be framed (not clip frames), be able to be hung, or on canvas.

By choosing to enter the exhibition, artists agree to allow their picture to be reproduced if chosen.

An entrance fee of £4 per item will be charged and the maximum size of work accepted is one metre square.

The work for exhibiting will be selected by a panel of representatives from the The Art Studio, Ten2Gallery, and the Art Cafe. Work that is not successful must be collected before Saturday August 3.

All entries must be delivered to 102 Castle Street between Monday July 22 and Saturday July 27 between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Payment must be made at the time of delivery and work should be protected with bubble wrap or car.

A Private View will be held and all work must be for sale. The Ten2Gallery will charge a 35 per cent commission fee on all items sold during the exhibition.
