Academy’s athletes celebrate medal wins at championsh­ips

BURBAGE Taekwon-Do Academy are celebratin­g after winning a haul of medals at the London Open Championsh­ips.

Nineteen students from the academy took part.

Their results Veteran Male and Female:

Neil Fieldsend: Gold – Blue Belt Patterns; Gold – Sparring; Gold – Power Breaking.

Rick Tipton: Silver – Red Belt Patterns and Overall Veteran Cup.

Richard Green: Bronze – Green Belt Patterns.

Rachel Moss: Bronze – Blue Belt Patterns.

Senior Male:

Ryan Watts: Gold – Yellow

Belt Patterns.

Junior 14-17 Blackbelt:

Lexi Darley: Gold - 55kg Sparring.

Juniors -13 years

Leo Moss: Gold – Red Belt Patterns.

Alexander Newton: Gold – Yellow Belt Patterns.

Megan Clark: Gold – Blue Belt Patterns; Gold – Sparring.

Ryan Clark: Gold – Blue Belt Patterns.

Abigail Skinner: Gold – Sparring.

Jasmine Beale: Gold – Sparring, Bronze – Green Belt Patterns.

Faye Skinner: Gold – Sparring.

Lucca Chen: Silver – Green Belt Patterns; Silver –Sparring.

Harry Wilkinson: Bronze – Sparring.

George Wilkinson: Bronze – Yellow Belt Patterns; Gold – Sparring.

Megan Skinner: Silver – Green Belt Patterns; Bronze – Sparring.

The final medal tally: 14 Gold, four Silver and six Bronze.

Master Wayne Higginson said: “Unlucky for Theo Brelsford, who performed very well on the day, only narrowly missing out on medal position.

“Well done to all students who took part and gained valuable experience, ready for the next Championsh­ips in Wales.”
