Ben’s good work rewarded

-

A GENEROUS young boy had a surprise special visit in his school assembly.

Benjamin Clark, 8, has been raising money to buy toys for sick children with his Ben’s Bins project, which has now topped £8,000.

He was with his classmates at Twycross House School when they were visited by Leicester City Football Club mascot Filbert Fox to present him with a new football kit.

The furry fan also asked Ben to be the official match mascot for Leicester’s opening match of the Premier League at the King Power Stadium against Wolverhampton Wanderers in August.

A post on the Benjamin Clark Racing page on Facebook said: “Recognition is not something Ben has ever been after but this absolutely blew him away.

“What an incredible experience this will be.

“Thanks to LCFC for making this happen and thank you to Twycross school for allowing a 7ft fox to disrupt your day, and of course thank you to all of you for supporting Ben’s efforts.”

Go karting enthusiast Ben goes round at race meetings and collects microfibre cloths used by engineers to clean the motors, which he cleans and sells on to raise funds.

His school has been very supportive of the campaign and cleaners use his cloths around the site.

The toys have been donated to cheer up poorly children at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Rainbows Hospice, and Ben even got to play with one of the young people he has helped.
