Tenth birthday of classes

A SWIMMING group that runs classes in Hinckley has celebrated its tenth anniversary.

Puddle Ducks Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire provides baby, children and Swim Academy swimming lessons across the region, including lessons at Jury’s Inn Hinckley Island Hotel.

Since launching in 2009, it has grown to a team of 15 members of staff and teaches over 950 young swimmers per week in 14 pools across the region.

Owner Cate WoodrowSmith said: “It has been a whirlwind journey, and I have loved every moment, and I am so proud of what we have achieved in supporting little ones to learn a skill for life and a love of swimming.

“I would like to thank each and every one of our customers past and present for supporting us and choosing and trusting Puddle Ducks with their precious babies, tots and children.

“Everything we do is for our customers, as we would not exist without them.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to my amazing team - you all make me so very proud, I love your passion, love and commitment to your roles, in and out of the pool.”

To celebrate, the team hid golden ducks around all 14 pools.

Little swimmers and their parents sent photos and selfies of themselves with the special ducks to win prizes, including hoodies, t-shirts, towels, Puddle gloves, swim bags and hampers.

Cate said: “The golden duck hunt has been a great success, we have received hundreds of great photos from our customers.

“It was so lovely to see them all join in and celebrate with us on being in business for 10 years. Bring on the next 10 years.”

Puddle Ducks provides innovative swimming classes for baby and pre-school classes, as well as Swim Academy for 4 to 10 year olds.

Teachers focus on creating a nurturing environment, which supports independent swimming for children of all abilities.

The company runs 156 classes a week across 14 pools.
