A GIRL famous for her love of animals and unique collection of pets has been recognised for her work by a famous farmer and TV presenter.

Daniella Hopkins from Hinckley, also known as ‘Dani Do Little’, inspired by character Dr Dolittle, received a reply to a letter she wrote to Jimmy’s Farm, the Channel 4 show about a pig farm and tourist destination in Suffolk.

She said in her message that she was “mad about animals” and that she would be running a Christmas charity raffle on her Facebook page to raise money for Birmingham Dogs Home.

Presenter Jimmy Doherty posted a picture of the letter on Facebook with the words: “Thank you ‘Dani Do Little’ for this great letter!! Keep on doing such great work x”

Dani also asked if Jimmy could donate something for the raffle and he sent her a family day pass to the farm and wildlife park.

The youngster spends a lot of her spare time at a farm in Broughton Astley where she looks after a horse, and some rescue chickens and lambs.

She also has two dogs, a hamster and a bearded dragon at home in Hinckley.

Mum Vicky said: “She has always had a love for animals. We have got photos of her when she was three with an owl on her arm.

“She’s sat with snakes or a tarantula at country shows. It doesn’t matter what the animal is, they seem drawn to her.”

Dani’s passion for animal care started when she became involved with the farm late last year.

She got stuck in with feeding the chickens, collecting eggs and putting the birds away, and soon discovered the hospital where poorly birds were nursed back to health.

She also rounds up the sheep and has helped deliver babies during lambing season, taking under her wing two orphaned lambs and another which was rejected by its mother.
