Blackspot crash shuts A5 as one person taken to hospital
A ROAD that campaigners have called an accident blackspot was shut for several hours on Monday after a crash involving two cars.
The collision saw the northbound dual carriageway of the A5 at High Cross, between Lutterworth and the M69 closed from lunchtime to about 6.30pm.
An air ambulance was the scene.
One person was taken to the nearby Coventry and Walsgrave Hospital after the collision, shortly before 1.30pm.
A petition calling for more safety measures on the A5 in the area has been signed by more than 1,700 people.
