Former students who set up design firm celebrate anniversary
Brio Media won prize for entrepreneurs of the year at graduation
A DESIGN studio launched by two former Hinckley students has celebrated five years in business.
Brio Media was set up by Alex Russell and Elliott WyndJennings, who studied at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College.
They came up with the idea of starting their own business while studying a graphic design course at the college.
Alex said: “It was a big challenge starting a business from scratch at just 22 years old but we had lots of help from some of our long standing clients and we’d like to say a massive thank you to them all.”
The creative pair work for
Hinckley BID and Keep The Beat as well as several national and international clients.
Birmingham City University and the National College for Advanced Transport and Infrastructure recently signed deals with them.
Alex and Elliott won the prize for entrepreneurs of the year at their graduation and were also lucky enough to be selected as
SBS winners by business tycoon and former dragon Theo Paphitis.
Their work for Hinckley BID has included providing promotional material and art work for the initiative’s calendar of events and on-going campaigns.
Hinckley BID director Steve Wegerif said: “We were probably one of Brio’s first clients.
“I used to own an advertising agency and when I met Alex and Elliott I was struck by their refreshing determination to understand what our project objective was, rather than just produce what we asked for.”
The company prides itself on its fresh and flexible approach to projects and wants to create design that is engaging, innovative and fun.
Elliott said: “We are really proud of what we have achieved over the past couple of years and we’re very excited about what the future holds.”
The pair celebrated the anniversary with a social media campaign looking back at the last five years.
