Gloworm gears up

-

GLOWORM Festival has announced the first artists confirmed to appear at the summer event.

So, the winter may have brought its predictable chill but why not cheer yourself up with thoughts of the warmth of the annual festival in Thoresby Park?

As well as all the favourite Gloworm elements, the line-up will include Andy and the Odd Socks who will be returning to the main stage on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Fronted by children’s TV presenter Andy Day, these were one of the main highlights from Gloworm 2018.

Saturday will also see the return of Nottingham favourites, Johnny and the Raindrops, along with back-to-back hits from Steps 2, a Steps tribute band.

Richard Walpole, festival director, said: “We have a great reputation for booking quality tribute acts, and this one is no exception. We know a lot of the parents like to relive their youth with their little ones, and we thought a Steps tribute would be the perfect pop band for them to bop to. We have a few other tributes up our sleeve and we can’t wait to share them with you.”

Sunday will see the main stage hosting a whole new kind of act for Gloworm. The Winners of Britain’s Got Talent, The Champions, Twist & Pulse will be performing. The hilarious dance duo will be busting some moves on the main stage and saying hello to fans in the meet and greet area. Sunday will also see the return of another festival favourite, Dr Ranj. He’ll be on the main stage performing his live show, Teddy Bear hospital.

Rebecca McGlone, event organiser, added: “We’re so ready for the return of Dr Ranj! We’ve invited him back this year because we want to celebrate our fifth birthday by having some of the highlights from the last four years back again in 2020.

“He was such a firm favourite with all of our festival goers.

“His stage show is absolutely brilliant It’s so interactive and enjoyable for the whole family.”

Children’s TV favourite Maddy Moate will also be at the Festival on Sunday.

The event takes place on Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire. Tickets are now on sale at glowormfestival.co.uk
