Hinckley A in narrow defeat to Bulkington

THIS week Hinckley A took on Bulkington A who currently sit mid table. The first quarter saw Bulkington lead by one goal but by half time Hinckley took the lead and were winning by 5 goals.

Hinckley entered the third quarter with a positive attitude and determinat­ion to get a win under their belts and continued their lead this time being ahead by 7. The final quarter however saw Bulkington come back strong and even though Hinckley played well as a team Bulkington managed to get a win. The final score Bulkington 39, Hinckley 37. POM went to GD Kate Chamberlai­n who put in a great performanc­e against a strong Bulkington attack.

Hinckley C team put up a great fight against Cherry bombs. The early game started off slowly for the Hinckley C team. After the first quarter there was a lot of ground to make up, however the C team fought until the end and made a great come back.

The third and forth quarter were Hinckley’s strongest of the game and it seen the C team to get within half of the score. The attack and defence were working tirelessly and this did not go unnoticed. C team had been working on a couple of things in training and these were put into great use within the game. Player of the match went to Liz, it was a well deserved POM and a great team performanc­e.

Hinckley D played Ernsford E at home on Saturday.

Unfortunat­ely the majority of the D team were unavailabl­e so Mia Fryer, Tracy Pallet and Katie from the E team volunteere­d to come and play.

Across the first and second quarters Hinckley managed to keep their composure scoring 10 each quarter.

At half time the Ds went one goal ahead. Throughout the game it was very tight, with both teams battling the score was consistent.

With a change of Hinckleys GA and WA at half time Hinckley extended their lead to 30-28 at the end of the third quarter.

The last 15 minutes were intense. Unfortunat­ely, passes became slightly sloppy and little errors were accruing causing Hinckley to lose their lead and Ernesford went on to win the match 36-39. Pom went to Mia Fryer.

A fantastic game by all 7 players today for Hinckley E! Despite the cold and wind Hinckley were dominant from the start to the end of the game.

The defensive pair were brilliant in forcing long shots and winning rebounds which allowed the ball to smoothly transition through court.

Hinckley weren’t afraid to slow down possession to ensure the ball successful­ly made it into the clinical shooting pair. Although the final quarter ended in a draw as players tired, the team remained extremely positive for the entirety of the game which reflected in the positive interchang­es between players across the court.
