Work opportunities at jobs fair
A SELECTION of exciting opportunities went on show event in Hinckley.
Work. Live. Leicestershire (WiLL) Project and Leicestershire County Council held a jobs fair at Hinckley Library.
More than 15 organisations attended, providing those who came along with direct access to employment opportunities and support into work.
The WiLL project helps people based in rural Leicestershire who are not currently in work to access jobs, training or education.
Led by the charity Vista, the project work at an is delivered in a partnership of nine organisations and three further collaborators.
One such partner is Leicestershire County Council, who run supportive work clubs for job searchers across the county.
WiLL Programme Lead, Rachel Cheney said: “Our Project already hosts the Hinckley Work Club here on a Wednesday to help people search for opportunities.
“However, this event has enabled local people and employers to connect in a direct way.”
The WiLL project aims to help 500 people in rural Leicestershire before December 2020, through funding from the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community fund. This includes supporting the development of skills, wellbeing, confidence and social engagement.
The project is currently operating in Hinckley and Bosworth, North West Leicestershire, Melton and Harborough.
