Work opportunit­ies at jobs fair

A SELECTION of exciting opportunit­ies went on show event in Hinckley.

Work. Live. Leicesters­hire (WiLL) Project and Leicesters­hire County Council held a jobs fair at Hinckley Library.

More than 15 organisati­ons attended, providing those who came along with direct access to employment opportunit­ies and support into work.

The WiLL project helps people based in rural Leicesters­hire who are not currently in work to access jobs, training or education.

Led by the charity Vista, the project work at an is delivered in a partnershi­p of nine organisati­ons and three further collaborat­ors.

One such partner is Leicesters­hire County Council, who run supportive work clubs for job searchers across the county.

WiLL Programme Lead, Rachel Cheney said: “Our Project already hosts the Hinckley Work Club here on a Wednesday to help people search for opportunit­ies.

“However, this event has enabled local people and employers to connect in a direct way.”

The WiLL project aims to help 500 people in rural Leicesters­hire before December 2020, through funding from the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community fund. This includes supporting the developmen­t of skills, wellbeing, confidence and social engagement.

The project is currently operating in Hinckley and Bosworth, North West Leicesters­hire, Melton and Harborough.
