Protection put in place to allow chippy to reopen

-

A CHIP shop in Barwell has fully reopened with coronavirus safety measures in place.

Chris’s Fish ‘n’ Chips in Barwell has had an extensive refit to protect staff and customers.

Glass screens have been installed throughout the shop, including over the counters, cookers, and serving areas, to protect as much as possible against contamination in the food preparation and cooking.

Entry and exit doors have been marked out to give a safe flow of queues and customer flow, so there is no crossing and jostling around to make room for others.

Signage and floor markings have been installed to remind customers to practice social distancing, while staff have had training in how to keep their distance.

Hand sanitising stations are available on entry and exit.

Staff will wear personal protective equipment and will get temperature checks on arrival.

Customers areas have been minimised to reduce touch points and maintain simple clean lines and areas.

Managers said in a post on the shop’s Facebook page: “We here at Chris’s Fish ‘n’ Chips, have done and will always go above and beyond, not content with minimal standards, we will always do our best, so we have the reputation for the best food, and naturally we want the same for our safety and our customers too.

“Thank you all for your continued support.” The chip shop has been running a delivery service for several weeks during lockdown, which is still available via the group’s website or by calling Hinckley 450375.
