Application time for schools

PARENTS with children due to start at primary schools in Leicestershire in September 2021 can now apply for places at their preferred schools.

Parents then have until Friday, January 15, 2021 to submit their applications.

Ivan Ould, Leicestershire County Council cabinet member for children and families, said: “We know that starting school is a big milestone so we would advise parents and carers to start considering this now and allow enough time to research and shortlist up to three primary schools that they want to include in their application. We encourage parents to make their application online as they will receive an automatic acknowledgement that it has been submitted.”

There is no automatic entry system for any school in the county, so parents should also ensure they exercise their right to apply for three school preferences and are aware of the closing date.

Late applications have the lowest priority being processed after those made on time.
