Conkers reopening its doors to visitors

-

FOLLOWING a temporary closure due to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, Conkers, the awardwinning visitor attraction at the heart of The National Forest on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border, has reopened its doors to visitors again.

A series of measures and processes are now in place to keep people safe and the number of visitors allowed to enter at any one time will be limited. Social distancing measures will be in place, indoors and outdoors, hand-washing facilities have been increased and cleaning routines are enhanced.

Ticket prices have been reduced to 80 per cent of 2019 prices, meaning that an adult ticket will cost £8, a child ticket £7 and a family ticket £28. Capacity is limited during this period so all bookings (members and non-members) should be made online in advance.

Purchases on-site will be made using contactless payment to further reduce personal contact between staff and visitors.

Conkers staff will all be using personal protective equipment and will change their uniforms on-site to avoid cross-contamination from home. In addition, staff will have their temperatures checked each morning before beginning work.

There is also a three-month extension on existing memberships for those who took out an annual membership from February 2019 onwards. New members signing up now will be able to enjoy 15 months of Conkers’ facilities for the price of the 12-month annual membership.

Membership can be extended or booked online at www.visitconkers.com or by calling 01283 216 633.

David Edwards, general manager at Conkers said: “In line with official Government guidelines and after extensive planning to ensure the safety of all of our staff and visitors, we’re pleased to be able to plan our reopening and are looking forward to welcoming people back. We have gone to great lengths to make Conkers as safe as possible for everyone and aim to make sure that we all have fun, while staying safe.”
