Chance to handle a Spitfire or F1 car in city New city centre attraction for speed demons and high flyers
IF you’ve ever fancied the idea of flying a Spitfire or driving a Formula One car, now’s your chance to do just that – at a new city centre attraction.
Leicester Simulations has opened in Cank Street, in the former home of Cank Street Gallery, which closed permanently last year.
The new family-run business has been launched by Barry, Jess and Lisa Peck, who are giving customers the chance to enjoy a range of exciting simulator experiences.
For those who like the idea of being a pilot, you could jump aboard a Spitfire and either fly solo around London or trail behind a German bomber formation, or you could fly around in a Messerschmitt BF 109, shooting down the Spitfires.
If you’d like the chance to drive a Formula One car around a track, then the racing
car experience could be ideal.
You can race solo or against an opponent to see who the best driver is.
The state-of-the-art simulation technology features professional software, steering systems and pedal boxes and, according to Leicester Simulations, is the same technology that is used to train Formula Three drivers.
Jess said: “My dad [Barry] has always been interested in Spitfires, so when he came across it as a simulation, he knew he wanted to do it.
“I wanted the racing cars for the younger generation and we also have a golf simulator that is for a bit of fun when the weather isn’t so great.”
All of the simulators available for either half hour or one hour.
The aircraft simulators are £40 for half an hour, £100 for one hour, and the racing simulator is £20 for half an hour, £30 for one hour, and £50 for one hour for two people.
The simulators are suitable for those aged 10 and above. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
