BARWELL FC’s season gets underway with a visit from Lowestoft Town – and fans are allowed to come along and watch.

After the 2019/20 season was brought to an early end by Covid-19, Barwell FC will return to league football on Saturday.

Lowestoft Town are the opposition in the Pitching In Southern Premier Division Central game. Kick-off is at 3pm and fans are allowed in to the game as long as strict Covid-19 regulations are followed.

Barwell FC have enjoyed a successful pre-season with only one defeat out of the seven games played.

They completed their pre-season with a good victory over higher league Gloucester City and look ready for the return of the league.

Manager Guy Hadland said that his side had been tested in pre-season but were ready to go.

He said: “We have been tested off the pitch as well as on the pitch in this preseason with injuries to some of our players but the lads are ready to go.”

Along with all clubs, Barwell FC have had to take steps to ensure that they are Covid secure so that fans can attend safely.

Dave

Laing, Chairman, outlined the measures that have been put in place.

He said: “We have installed hand sanitiser around the ground, implemented one way systems and installed screens for our volunteers to work behind. We want people to be able to come and enjoy watching local football safely.”

Admission is £10 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for Under 16s and free for U11s. Tickets are available on the turnstile with the correct money appreciated.
