Politicians are treating us with contempt

-

With the government proposing to bring tens of thousands of Afghans into the country, and tens of thousands of Hong Kong migrants, in addition to (other) migrants, with no account taken of the 8oo+ (illegal) migrants crossing the channel, adding to the birth rate in the country, then the population of the UK is resembling a tin of sardines. While the politics of it all, is more like a can of worms.

The opposition parties are united in their demand for increased migration and a removal of restrictions that may impede the flow, while the government rant and rave about their intention to substantially reduce numbers.

So far they’ve blocked seasonal agricultural workers and truck drivers while paying the French £80 million to stop the flow across the channel, but have got a sham show instead and converted border force into a taxi service for migrants.

It is estimated that we have some 280,000 homeless people, with hundreds of those ex service personnel, who served in Afghanistan, plus countless people in poverty living in Labour controlled housing in the most appalling conditions, being denied repairs, until film crews expose the shame of it all.

Yet the opposition parties unite in condemning the government for failing to meet the expectations of the migrants, who find things are not as told by the people smugglers. Human rights lawyers bring cases against the government, because their clients have a right to a family life and demand the government bring their extended families into the UK, and the courts support such injunctions.

Yet a substantial number of migrants, granted asylum, because their lives are (alleged) in danger, then return to their country of origin for holidays, and to see family, once they have a British passport?

We have a housing crisis; NHS in turmoil; schools oversubscribed; a public sector pay freeze, benefit cuts, and a debt that our grandchildren will still be paying off; yet our politicians demand more and more be spent on foreign aid, even though most is wasted, or creamed off by corruption, so that (they) can feel better and look good on the world stage (yes; another sham show).

Wouldn’t a parochial priority be more fitting and address the needs of this country rather than prioritise the rest of the world. Elected to serve us, they treat us with contempt, as their morality becomes more amoral, as they look down on us from their puritan splendour. Is it any wonder the public are disenfranchised from our political elite, as the left remain loony, and the Tories loose the plot!
