ProChance hit seven to net first LSL victory

-

THE 2021-22 Everards Leicestershire Senior League season is finally starting to take some shape. Starting this week in the Premier Division on Tuesday night, the two winless sides, ProChance and Ellistown met with Ellistown bagging a 3-1 win.

However, Quorn-based ProChance got their first LSL win on Saturday with a 7-2 win at home to Fleckney, going in 5-1 up at the break. Callum Edwards scored four, and Kian Armson, Schilo Kanda, and Nichols again, secured the points, Josh Doody and Ash Sharman for Fleckney, who now bring up the rear, after Desford won 3-1 on Saturday at Highfield Rangers, Harry Jarvis (2) and Callum Brown the scorers, O’Neill Rawle for Rangers.

The other midweek game in the Prem was a Thursday night cracker, as Sileby Town travelled to Ashby Ivanhoe Knights where an injury time goal from Robbie Harrison gave the Knights a 3-2 win. The exertions of Thursday evidently told on Saturday, as both sides lost - Sileby conceded in the third minute to a Thomas Antill effort that was enough to give Ellistown a 1-0 win whilst Knights were well-beaten 5-1 at Hathern.

In Everards Brewery Division One, Burbage Old Boys, won 4-0 on Tuesday night at Birstall United Reserves, Ashley Mason (2), Marley Henry and Connor Pugh scoring.

The other game in midweek was on Tuesday at Riverside Park where Barrow Town Reserves welcomed Loughborough FC. The game was all over by half-time, with the home side 4-0 up by the interval, eventually running out 6-1 winners. Jamil Chowdhury scored four, aided and abetted by Sam Crabtree and Michael Hendey, with Byron Jepson scoring the Luffs’ consolation. That was to be the first of two thumpings for the Drome side, who lost 4-0 on Saturday at home to Friar Lane & Epworth Reserves, who put themselves on the fringes of the pack with Gonzalo Freitas and Ryan Rowley offering a brace of braces.

Barrow, meanwhile, climbed into the top half of the table with a 4-2 win at Barlestone, with Chowdhury scoring again, Alex Greenwell scoring twice, and an OG helping their cause, Ben Smith and George Smith for Barlestone.

Along with Loughborough, Kibworth Town are the other Div 1 side searching their first win after losing 5-0 at Ingles Reserves on Saturday, and join Saffron in forming the bottom two, Connor Bennett (4) and Dean Pell the scorers. Finally in Division One, Holwell Sports Reserves and Earl Shilton Albion swapped places after Holwell won 3-1 at Earl Shilton, Stan Logan (2) and Kai BiggsFinney the scorers for Sports, Matt Pratt for Albion.
