-

IN Division Two of the Hinckley Table Tennis League Market Bosworth A are setting the pace with some strong performances.

They saw off the youthful George Ward D side by 8 sets to 2. Pete Muir collecting three good wins for them , whilst James Walker claimed two good wins for GWD. This was followed by 10 sets to nil victory over their own ‘B’ team.

In their next fixture against one of their main rivals Goons Two, they showed real class to run out easy winners by 9 sets to 1. Both Muir and Shaun Garrett winning all of their games.

Goons Two despite that loss are also performing well. They fought out a 5 all draw away to X-Cat 3 for whom Simon Gresty was in excellent form taking all of his games.

They followed this up with a close 6 sets to 4 win over G Ward C. Barry Robinson (Goons 2) being the player of the match.

GWC collected a useful win over Market Bosworth B by 10 sets to nil, but then were soundly beaten by X-Cat 3 by 8 sets to 2.

This was followed by a disappointing result against Hit and Hope B, when they lost by 7 sets to

3.

Hit and Hope B followed up that victory with another good win over X-Cat 4 by 6 sets to 4.

It was X-Cat’s Steve Bessant who came out as player of the match winning his three comfortably.

In their next fixture they were surprisingly beaten by the G Ward D side for whom James Walker won his three, teammate Matt Halliday took two sets and Eppie Southern collected one win to run out winners by 6 sets to 4.

In their next game GWD found X-Cat 4 too strong and went down by 2 sets to

X-Cat 4 had a bit of a shock when they played Mkt Bosworth B, they were pushed hard by the bottom side and only just made it by 6 sets to 4, thanks mainly to a fine maximum from Alex Westerby.
