Multi-million selling artist to join Faith at summer gig

JAMES MORRISON ANNOUNCED AS SUPPORT AT CRICKET CLUB

MUSIC fans are in for a double treat this summer after Paloma Faith announced that James Morrison will join her at a major outdoor gig in the city.

The chart-topping artist, right, will bring her The Age of Optimism Summer Tour 2022 to Leicesters­hire County Cricket Club on Sunday, July 31.

Announcing Morrison as support, she said: “I’ve been a fan of James Morrison for years and I can’t wait to play alongside him this summer.

“He’s such an undeniable talent and it feels like I have won a competitio­n!”

Having risen to fame with songs You Give Me Something and Wonderful World, plus the Nelly Furtado collaborat­ion Broken Strings, Morrison has five studio albums with more than seven million worldwide record sales.

He also has a BRIT Award for best British male solo artist under his belt.

His 2011 album The Awakening went platinum in the UK and he has had platinum albums in 10 other countries.

He has previously joined Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springstee­n, Elton John and Paul Weller at their shows

Now he will perform on Faith’s tour, which begins in June.

This will follow his own Greatest Hits UK and Europe tour, which is under way. He was at the Royal Concert Hall, in Nottingham, on March 30.

Of joining the summer tour, he said: “I am buzzing to be with all my fans sharing my best songs. I can’t wait to see you all, it’s going to be an amazing summer!”
