Homeless charity role is a real privilege for Dawn
New director brings over 20 years of experience in sector
HOMELESSNESS charity Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland is delighted to announce the appointment of Dawn Wright as its new director.
Dawn brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked in the charitable sector for more than 20 years at both local and national levels.
Prior to joining Emmaus, Dawn has managed several charities including Coping with Cancer in Leicestershire & Rutland and most recently worked as the Director of Services at Headway, the brain injury association.
Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland supports 16 people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.
The Hinckley-based charity provides a safe home for as long someone needs it, plus daily support, meaningful work, funded training, and the opportunity to gain new skills.
The charity’s Emporium shop on Stockwell Head in Hinckley raises vital funds, as well as offering work experience and a sense of purpose to those being supported.

10th anniversary later this year. Dawn will be overseeing the charity’s current operations, continuing its work supporting people to overcome homelessness and social exclusion.
Speaking about her appointment, Dawn said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland during its 10th anniversary year.
“It’s a real privilege to be given the opportunity to work with the people we support and our staff team, and I look forward to the future and what it holds for us.”
