Open day at the Crusaders...
BOWLS England are sponsoring a national ‘ Bowls Big Weekend’ and Burbage Crusaders Bowling Club are taking part on May 28 from 11am to 5pm.
The day will consist of a fun open day at the bowling green on Bridge Road Burbage (off Brookside) and all are welcome. The only thing guests will need is a pair of flat soled shoes to prevent damage to the grass.
A club spokesman said: “In addition to the traditional game of bowls the Crusaders will be laying on some other fun variations of the game on some of the rinks.
“The bar will be open and there will be a selection of cakes with tea/coffee.
“You don’t need any previous experience or particular sporting experience – we just want you to come and have fun with the Crusaders who are looking forward to welcoming you.”
• If you can’t make it on May 28 and are interested in bowling please contact Ben Bennett on 07570595840 or a-bennett@talktalk.net to arrange a personal introduction.
