Society shows support with ticket offer

-

HINCKLEY & Rugby Building Society is celebrating 50 years of supporting the Hinckley Concordia Amateur Operatic Society (HCAOS).

The society’s partnership with the group began in 1972 when the theatre first opened its doors and HCAOS put on their first performance - The Sound of Music – a show which the group will be performing this spring, supported again by the society.

The show will run from 3-14 May.

The Theatre Producer and Director Nanette Goodman remembers: “When we were converting the old factory of Moore, Eady & Murcott Goode into the Theatre in 1972, the then manager of Hinckley and Rugby Building Society, Mr Eric Faulkner, was a great help to us. His knowledge regarding finance etc was invaluable and he spent many hours working alongside all of us to make us ready the opening. He was a lovely man - liked and respected, and remembered fondly by me.”

Carla Loughrey, the society’s Senior Marketing Executive, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating an incredible 50 years of supporting Hinckley Concordia Amateur Operatic Society. It has been a real privilege to sponsor some fantastic performances which provide so much joy to the local community. It is a partnership which has remained strong all these years and one we plan to nurture for many more years to come.”

As part of the celebrations, the Society will be giving away five pairs of tickets for the Friday 13 May performance of the show. To win a pair of tickets, theatre lovers are asked to comment on the society’s competition post on their Facebook page with their favourite song from the popular musical.
