Join NSPCC in the Big Breaktime fund-raiser

- nspcc.org.uk Julie Lawrence, NSPCC school coordinator for North Leicestershire and Leicester

THE NSPCC is calling on nurseries and schools across Leicestershire to enjoy an hour of play for the Big Breaktime and raise money to help keep children safe.

Childhood Day, on Friday, June 10, is our charity flagship day of fund-raising, where children and adults are encouraged to have a big break from the school day to focus on playing and having fun.

We’re asking schools in Leicestershire to sign-up and enjoy an hour of play whenever it suits them, and join other schools and nurseries across the country in The Big Breaktime.

We would also love schools in Leicestershire to help Ant & Dec with their Pass the Positivity campaign to raise awareness of the NSPCC ahead of Childhood Day.

Children and their families, teachers and communities are invited to share what makes them happy and positive in the form of a message, poem or a piece of artwork.

A selection of the most inspiring messages will be transformed into an installation, which will be unveiled by Ant & Dec this month as they launch their first children’s book – Propa Happy, which will raise funds for the children’s charity.

Details on how to take part and help us raise funding for NSPCC projects in Leicestershire and across the UK can be found on the NSPCC website’s Childhood Day Hub, and there are resources available to schools, nurseries and childcare groups that sign up. Whether it’s by fund-raising, donating, volunteering at a collection, or taking action, we’re asking people in Leicestershire to play their part to help keep children safe.
