AQUA PARK HEADS BACK TO RUTLAND

- By BECKY JONES Reporter aquaparkgroup.co.uk/rutland/

AN attraction which claims to feature the UK’s largest collection of bespoke big impact water obstacles is preparing to open for the summer at Rutland Water.

Aqua Park Rutland will be welcoming visitors for the 2022 season from Saturday, May 21.

Adrenaline junkies will be able to take on more than 40 inflatables, including the UK’s tallest water obstacle, The Rutland Mammoth, and either plummet from the giant slides or experience freefall with its 5.5 metre (18ft) drop.

The course will also feature a Tornado Tower, as well as climbing walls, trampolines, slides and huge blast bags. The park is at the sports centre at Whitwell Creek, on the north shore of Rutland Water.

It is operated by Aqua Park Group, which promises to provide “exhilarating fun” for up to 150 thrill-seekers at a time.

It is returning thanks to the ongoing partnership with Anglian Water and will offer season passes for those who want to return, or even visit one of the group’s other water parks at Grafham Water, Cardiff Bay or Thurrock Lakeside.

Connor James, founder of Aqua Park Rutland, said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome back people this summer to Rutland Water and it’s likely we’ll be free from Covid-19 restrictions.

“The course has retained favourites from previous years, including the ‘Tornado Tower,’ so we know it’ll provide amazing fun for guests.

“With household budgets likely to still be limited this year, we’ve introduced the Aqua Park Season Pass, which covers entry to our four UK water park locations. It means people can book up to twice a week for the whole summer, giving families an easy and cost-effective way to keep the kids active throughout the summer.”

All visitors to Aqua Park Rutland will be provided buoyancy aids, but must be at least 1.2 metres tall (3ft 11in) and able to swim 25 metres unaided to take part.

Qualified lifeguards will be on duty throughout the day, both in and out of the water.

Children aged six and seven years old can attend any session provided that an adult or guardian of 18+ is present on the Aqua Park with them, on a one adult to three children ratio.

Children aged eight to 15 years old inclusive can attend any session but must have either a adult or guardian on shore, or on the Aqua Park with them for the duration of the session.

Those aged 16 and above can attend without supervision.

Tickets for the park can be booked online and cost £20 for a one-hour session.

It is recommended that a wetsuit is worn, and they can be hired for £5 when reserved in advance during the booking process. Season passes are available for £49 each.

Parking costs are 15 minutes free, one hour £1.70, three hours £3.70, five hours £6, eight hours £8.
