Marvin to swing by club for Ladies’ Day

LEICESTERS­HIRE County Cricket Club has announced that it will hold its first Ladies’ Day this summer and the first edition of this new annual event will be headlined by Marvin Humes.

The JLS star, who is now known as a DJ, producer and broadcaste­r, will entertain the crowds with a DJ set at the event on Saturday, August 20.

It will take place in conjunctio­n with the Royal London Cup fixture as Leicesters­hire take on the Notts Outlaws at the Uptonsteel County Ground, in Grace Road.

Marvin to Leicester’s premier outdoor venue to headline and close the event in style with what is set to be a fantastic live DJ set.

“The launch of a new annual Ladies’ Day further adds to an already action-packed summer of cricket and events at Uptonsteel County Ground including the concert of Paloma Faith and James Morrison, who perform at the ground in July. It’s a very exciting time at Leicesters­hire County Cricket Club.”

According to the cricket club, it is set to be an action-packed day of cricket including live pitch-side entertainm­ent from daytime DJ Ryan Arnold followed by a spectacula­r evening post-match live DJ set on the pitch by Marvin.

The new matchday Fan Zone will be open and in full swing with lots of activities and games and there will be a range of food outlets and bars all around the ground.

The club will also be running competitio­ns throughout the day with a variety of prizes. You could even be named the 2022 Best Dressed Lady.

Gates will open at 10am, with the first session and in-play entertainm­ent from 11am until 2.30pm. There will be an interval with DJ hosted activities including Best Dressed Lady from 2.30pm until 3.15pm.

The second session and in-play entertainm­ent will be from 3.15pm until 6.45pm, followed by Marvin’s DJ set from 7pm. Timings are subject to change.
