Austrians Threaten French rear

The Austrian VI Corps launches a spirited attack at 10am on the lightly held extreme left flank of the French army. The Austrians force back General Jean Boudet’s division and capture Aspern. Napoleon sends Marshal Masséna to personally direct forces in that sector and prevent them from breaking into the French rear.
