Chinese recruits of the Wang Jingwei collaborationist regime perform bayonet drills in Nanking. After the fall of Shanghai in November 1937, just months into the Second Sinojapanese War, Japanese forces quickly marched west, towards the Chinese capital. The city fell in less than two weeks, after which began the Nanking Massacre.
