Dozens of customisable building plots for D oak frame homes are being made available in Herefordshire and beyond, thanks to a new hybrid approach to custom build and self-build from Border Oak. Rather than searching for their own plots, clients can choose from a range of fully serviced and landscaped sites owned by Border Oak, all with detailed planning permission already in place. Self-builders can choose to undertake most of the work themselves, opt for a turnkey solution or any stage in between, with Border Oak offering project management and master planning.

“As we undertake all of the planning work, we will have a good knowledge of the site history and can guide clients who are keen to make changes,” says Border Oak’s Merry Albright. “We can also ensure their changes don’t impact on other plots or the overall scheme.”

All of the materials specified are from a palette agreed by the local authority, including Border Oak bricks and roof tiles, mortar mixes, and a selection of window and render colours. Currently Border Oak has eight active schemes across Herefordshire, and the company is now rolling out the principle to other areas including sites in Berkshire, Norfolk and Northamptonshire.
