CASE STUDY: CIL at the planning stage

Jeff Kahane + Associates are working with self-builders in Suffolk who are currently at the beginning of their build. They came across a stumbling block when submitting their CIL exclusion forms. The process was a little more complicated that it should normally have been as the previous owner of the site, who had obtained planning approval for a family house on the site, had already initiated their own CIL application process. This CIL application had to be taken off/removed from the site so that the previous owner did not become liable.
