Picton Castle originated in the 13th century, with a splendid Georgian wing added in the 1790s. A treasured family home for over 700 years, the elegant rooms feature glorious Georgian furnishings and interiors, magnificent fireplaces by Sir Henry Cheere, elegantly remodelled plasterwork and fine works of art, including the controversial ‘Picton Renoir’.

Surrounded by a spectacular 40-acre RHS Partner Garden, with informal woodlands, extensive lawns, a scented walled garden and one of the largest private collection of plants in Wales, Picton is also home to dozens of rare, endangered conifers from as far away as Taiwan and Australia.

Centred on the Victorian courtyard are the Picton Art Galleries, a quality gift shop, a lawnmower museum and a popular deli and restaurant which catered for HRH Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on their visit to Picton in 2014.
