3 MAN BEHIND THE MASK
Estimate: £300–£500
Tribal Kifwebe masks originate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and were used to identify members of the tribe whose role was to quell any disruption within the Songye people. This extraordinary 1930s example came from the collection of renowned modern art dealer and Auschwitz survivor, Jan Krugier, which is why it came in above its estimate.
