Mille eur is French for ‘a thousand !owers’, and was a method of decoration that was extremely popular in the Qianlong period of Chinese ceramics. This late 19th to early 20th-century twin-handled vase is sprinkled with pretty enamelled !owers and leaves against a glossy gold background. It’s not surprising that it sold for more than double its upper estimate.
